Christmas Open House and Market

Artisan Christmas Open House & Market

Pajama Factory artist Tammy Daneker is doing her Christmas Open House and Market again this year and you really don’t want to miss it!

I wanted to share the info for my Christmas Open House and Market! I know it’s the same weekend as the PJFactory Holiday Market, but several PJF people are participating as vendors, and it’s pretty close by. So I say put your shopping shoes on and see it all!!

Organic Gardening Center goes to school

Brian and Marc from the Organic Garden Center

Brian and Marc from the Organic Garden Center were in Blossburg this week, teaching some very lucky students about hydroponics.

If you haven’t stopped in to the Organic Garden Center lately, drop by sometime—it’s a gorgeous shop staffed by people who are always willing to share their knowledge. (The OGC is at the corner of Rose and Park, on the first floor of the Pajama Factory.)

September First Friday

September First Friday is one of the big ones at the Pajama Factory! As you have probably noticed, we don’t go ‘all-out’ for First Friday each and every month, but September is one where we’ll be throwing open the doors and filling the halls with people, art and events, so you’ll want to be there for sure.

You can get more information about which studios will be open as well as other exhibits on the Pajama Factory Facebook event page. Head on over and let us know if you’ll be joining us.

Intro to Tintypes

While tintype photography has been around for 160 years or so, it certainly qualifies as ‘new and exciting’ around these parts.

There’s a workshop coming up in early September where you can learn about the process, take your own tintype, or even sit for a portrait!

Tintypes

Saturday session – Still lifes – Sept 12 – 10 AM to 4 PM Use our props or bring your own to create a table-top set to photograph.

Sunday Session – Portraits – Sept 13 – 10 AM to 4 PM We’ll take turns sitting for a portrait or use a model. If you have vintage or period clothing bring it along.

Maximum enrollment is six. This process is not well suited for young students.

BATHVS

Shana Eichenberg is a tenant who’s used her space in the Pajama Factory to build her bath, body and hair care business from the ground up.

Bathvs, (pronounced ‘bathus’) is all made by hand in her 4th floor studio, where Shana formulates the recipes, produces each batch, packages and ships orders all over the world and works on marketing, both through Facebook, Etsy and now her shiny new website. (She also sells her products at Roots Hair Studio by Karen in building 6 of the factory!)

We’re happy and proud to have Shana and Bathvs as one of our many small businesses at the Pajama Factory—we can’t wait to see what *you* will do here!

Here’s her new site—go take a look!

CultureSpots

Cliff Stevens and his wife Veruschka moved to the Pajama Factory from Philadelphia not long ago. Cliff is the brains behind CultureSpots, a program to help young people (and old!) gain a new appreciation for the treasures found in museums.
