Artist-in-Residence Program @ the Pajama Factory

The Public Art Academy has posted application information for the 2012 Artist in Residence program on their website. The deadline to apply is April 7, 2012. The program is open to applicants from the United States and around the world representing the full rage of aesthetic perspectives and cultural backgrounds.

About the PAA Artist-in-Residence Program

The Public Art Academy Artist In Residency Program, an international creative community for artists and writers exists to support intensive studio work. PAA AIR provides a creative atmosphere for one to two month summer residencies, including:

  • Space and Time
  • Studio Space
  • Living Space
  • the companionship of professional peers
  • A dedicated staff, all of whom are artists

PAA AIR is committed to preserve and evolve its program in keeping with north central Pennsylvania traditions of modest comfort, spaciousness, nature and a more relaxed way of life. PAA AIR is a non-competitive community of working artists, and staff, who honor their relationship and responsibility to the Program as well as to the community of Williamsport and beyond. PAA AIR operates on a sustainable business model that carefully stewards its resources and expands financial support in order to:

  • Adhere to the founding principles of the PAA
  • Offer more financial support for residencies
  • Maintain and improve the Center’s building and Housing
  • Increase compensation for its dedicated, talented staff as appropriate.

PAA AIR will continue to build on its reputation for excellence, responding to a changing world while always holding to its core philosophy to encourage and support the creative development of the artists.
