Friends,

A lot of exciting things are going on at the Pajama Factory these days - most importantly we just finalized our new ownership of the building on October 8th!

With all the energy and change, we wanted to keep our friends and acquaintances abreast of what's happening. We appreciate your help in sharing this information about our artists/artisan community with anyone you know and invite them to visit pajamafactory.net for more information.

In the News

The local Williamsport Sun Gazette recently featured a great article about the Pajama Factory and our future plans for the building in the Sunday business section. The Sunday before last, the Gazette also had a front-page article about the Pajama Factory events that concluded a week-long arts celebration in town (see additional details below).

Special Events

Williamsport was recently designated by the Governor as the “Cultural Center for Pennsylvania”. There was a weeklong arts celebration in town (Nov 10th-16th) with many of the activities scheduled at the Pajama Factory.
  • Tuesday evening at the Pajama Factory was jam packed with a book signing, an acoustic guitar performance, a writers collective and open houses with the Public Art Academy, the Uptown Music Collective and studios for artists located in the building.
  • Thursday evening, there was an opening reception for the many incredible sculptures in the courtyard with wine provided by our own Eagle Rock Winery.
  • Saturday was "Free Family Art Day" at the Pajama Factory with performances, activities, exhibitions, storytellers, singers, and more designed for the whole family.
  • The trolley bus ran on an ongoing basis from downtown to the Pajama Factory.

Construction Update

There's a lot of work going on including:
  • Masonry restoration work on parts of the complex to get things moving before the winter cold sets in.
  • Construction of 12 studio spaces ranging in size from 300 to 4000 square feet (starting at $100/month in rent!)
  • A new leasing and management office that will include gallery space for exhibiting our tenants' work and a conference room available for tenant's use.
  • We continue to expand free internet wireless access to newly occupied sections of the building.

Tenant Update

We look forward to growing our community at the building with our most recent additions:
  • 1883, a pub and draughthouse/restaurant is finalizing plans to move into the space. It will be the home to an impressive selection of craft and import beers offered on draught from one of 24 different taps. Plus, there will be a yummy, tantalizing menu of great food and music to enhance the pub experience!
  • Another painter has taken a studio space
  • A glass company also has plans to move in. They will specialize in doing custom glass work for clients.
  • A performance space for contemporary music will be opening - it will be large enough to hold 500 patrons!
  • A local nonprofit organization will be setting up a computer training session facility for local school children

A Happy Thanksgiving to All ...
