What defines us? Holds us together? Is it our relationships, our pursuits? If you forgot everything that made you, you — would you still be you? These are the questions we set out to explore in “Call Me She,” an original, collaborative work inspired by a New York Times article.
This project was introduced at Purple Threads’ new and developing works festival (The Kitchen Riots) in 2012 as a one-act and has since moved onto a number of developmental workshops. We set out to explore concepts of Identity and Escapism, while integrating text, movement, and soundscape into a seamless story-line.
At Purple Threads Ensemble, we are committed to the collaborative process and the continued dialogue we share with our artistic peers and audiences. So, come along and join the thread!
We can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on!
