Say hello to Annelise!
Annelise Latini is the powerhouse behind Clear Sphere Yoga at the Pajama Factory, a new yoga studio that has been generating a lot of excitement around here. This weekend she will be teaming up with Brittany from the Triad Center for a Chakra Balancing workshop in her welcoming, light-filled studio.
Chakra is a Sanskrit word (meaning ‘wheel,’) that describes the seven energy centers in the human body. Ideally, these energy centers are balanced, leading to a mind filled with harmony and a body that’s well-suited to dealing with the stress and struggles we all face in life. (Something we will all need going into the holidays!)
The half-day workshop will take place on Sat, Nov. 18th from 1-5pm and will feature physical poses, breathwork, meditation, and essential oils (created in collaboration with Shana of BATHVS.) Of course this is a great workshop for Yoga practitioners, teachers and energy workers, but it assumes no prior knowledge, just a willingness to learn about this ancient, yet very modern tradition.
You can find all of the details and register on the event page: http://www.chakrabalancingworkshop.ontrapages.com/november18

Factory Works Gallery invites you to Painted Journal II, an exhibition of work by Rita & Steve Bower which chronicles the creative journey they have traveled over the years. Join us on Friday, 11/3 from 6-9pm on the 2nd floor of Building 9, Studio 10.
According to Steve, “It is almost painfully difficult to describe art and the art experience. Try to describe the wind, the sun on your face, or the look in a child’s eye and that is what it is like. For each person it is a distinctly different experience or sensation and we as artists try to create things which in the presence of others are transcendent enough to connect.”
Rita added that, “It is my dream to one day make art that will stir someone. Although more comfortable wearing the hat of the ‘art educator,’ when I make art I am often filled with a sense of accomplishment and honesty.”
We hope you will join us in exploring this painted journal that Rita and Steve Bower have and continue to create. This exhibition will be available to public through November 24th. Gallery hours are Wednesdays & Thursdays from 4-7pm.
